So three Defenders with open diffs do a cross axle challenge and only one makes it through on the first attempt. I guess we know the new Defenders traction control systems works.

I’ll give it four seconds before the old Defender Defence team starts screaming FAKERY AFOOT! , but I had the exact same issue with my ‘94 Rangie (which the old Defender basically is) offroad. It would occasionally just not want to go over stuff like that if the traction was slightly off. My ‘03 Freelander with the HDC engaged just bobs over stuff like that, and sure, I hear the TCS making a bit of noise but I’m still moving whilst the Rangie would need ether a slight run up or to go at it at a different angle. The new Defender has some ridiculously capable tech under the bonnet, I really can’t wait to have a go in one offroad, as my first drive in one was pretty much just a on road experience.

They’re pivoting to the “30 years from now the old one will still be on the road while the pretender will be on the scrap heap” shtick.

Looked like a pretty good demo of how they can all drive over parking lot planters. Well done, gents.

I’m trying to remember the last time I saw any thirty year old Land Rover product on the road.

Jokes on them. The new one won’t rust even half as badly as the old ones did, even out on the showroom car park.
I cannot wait for the beautiful thing that is depreciation to bring a P300, Pangea green 90 (or white 110, whatever, I have no taste apparently), with white steelies and the full offroad package (without the dumb sticker on the bonnet) under £25,000. It won’t be that long, I give it 3-5 years. Then it will be mine .
Soon...
( Insert Emperor Palpatine style laughter here )

How about 58 years old?

17 years old and 27 years old respectively.
Guess which one works?
Not the grey one, unsurprisingly .
